Compliance

Our commitment

Maintaining the integrity of the financial system is a fundamental responsibility of ASCA. We are committed to operating in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and internationally recognised standards designed to prevent financial crime, protect our members and safeguard the stability of the financial system.

ASCA Capital is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Licensing details are provided in your member documentation. Our international operations are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the relevant regulatory authorities in the jurisdictions where we operate.

Financial crime prevention

ASCA maintains a comprehensive compliance framework designed to prevent the misuse of our platform for financial crime.

Our compliance programme includes, among other things:

  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
  • Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF)
  • Counter-Proliferation Financing (CPF), where applicable
  • Economic and financial sanctions compliance
  • Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
  • Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for higher-risk relationships
  • Politically Exposed Person (PEP) screening
  • Ongoing transaction and customer activity monitoring
  • Fraud prevention and financial crime detection
  • Regulatory reporting and record-keeping obligations

Our compliance controls are continuously reviewed and enhanced to reflect evolving regulatory requirements, emerging financial crime risks and industry best practices.

Customer due diligence

To protect both our members and the integrity of the financial system, ASCA applies risk-based customer due diligence measures before establishing a business relationship and throughout its duration.

Members may be required to verify their identity, provide information regarding the purpose of the relationship, the nature of their activities and, where appropriate, information relating to the source of funds or source of wealth.

Where required by applicable law or our internal policies, ASCA may request additional documentation or information at any stage of the relationship.

Ongoing monitoring

Compliance is an ongoing process rather than a one-time verification.

ASCA continuously reviews customer information and monitors account activity to help identify unusual, suspicious or potentially unlawful activity. Monitoring activities are conducted using a combination of automated systems, risk-based controls and human oversight.

Where appropriate, ASCA may review transactions, temporarily restrict certain activities or request additional information in order to satisfy its legal and regulatory obligations.

Member responsibilities

Members are expected to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information during onboarding and throughout their relationship with ASCA.

You are responsible for notifying us promptly of any material changes to your personal information, business activities, beneficial ownership, tax residency or other information that may affect your relationship with ASCA.

Failure to provide requested information within a reasonable period may result in delays, restrictions, suspension of services or termination of the business relationship where required by law or regulation.

Regulatory obligations

ASCA may be required to verify customer information, retain records, monitor transactions and report certain activities to competent authorities where required by applicable laws and regulations.

To protect the effectiveness of our compliance programme and where permitted by law, ASCA may not always be able to disclose the reasons for certain compliance-related decisions or actions.

Our approach

Our compliance programme is built on the principles of integrity, transparency, proportionality and a risk-based approach.

By combining robust compliance controls with modern technology and experienced compliance professionals, ASCA aims to provide a secure, trusted and compliant banking experience while meeting the highest standards of regulatory governance.
